Café POS software

Café POS software for India, explained plainly.

Nivala is café POS and billing software for independent cafés in India. The counter takes orders on the PC, laptop or Android tablet you already own, the kitchen sees them on a screen, the bill is a GST bill, and the owner sees the day on the phone. Starter is ₹999 a month per café. Plus is ₹1,299 a month per café. This is the final amount. GST is not charged.

What a café POS does

A point of sale is where the café turns an order into money in the till. In a café it has to do six things well: take the order fast, get it to the kitchen, make the right bill, record how the guest paid, close the shift, and show the owner the day.

  • Take orders for tables, takeaway and the counter by touch
  • Send each order to the kitchen the moment it is ready
  • Make a numbered GST bill, or show it on screen
  • Record cash, UPI and card
  • Close the shift and check the cash matches
  • Show the owner the day, and export everything for the CA

What Nivala includes

Both plans include the counter, the kitchen screen, GST bills, shift close and the owner dashboard. Plus adds stock, purchases and recipe costs.

  • Orders for tables, takeaway and the counter
  • Kitchen screen included
  • GST bills, and a CSV for your CA
  • Cash, UPI and card recorded by staff
  • Shift close: check the cash matches
  • Expenses and the owner dashboard
  • Download every record as CSV

Cafés, small restaurants, and who it is not for

Nivala is built for one independent café with a counter and a kitchen, from a busy counter to a few dozen seats. A small restaurant that works the same way, dine-in and takeaway with one kitchen, fits too.

  • No table reservations, online bookings or QR ordering by guests.
  • No automatic link to Swiggy or Zomato. You can type those orders at the counter.
  • No offline billing. Orders and payments need the internet to be confirmed.
  • One café per account. Not for chains with many outlets or cloud kitchens.
  • UPI and card are recorded by your staff. Nivala does not take the payment.

How to choose, in one evening

Do not choose from a demo. Create your café, add your menu and run a practice day against your own paper bills. If the totals match and the counter is faster, go live. Setup and practice are free. You pay when you go live.

The six checks: the practice-day guide. Coming from paper or another app: what comes across. Bills and tax: GST billing for cafés.

Questions owners ask

What is café POS software?
Café POS (point of sale) software is what the counter uses to take orders, send them to the kitchen, make the bill and record how the guest paid. A good one also closes the shift, shows the owner the day’s sales and gives the accountant a clean export. Nivala does all of this for one café in India.
What should a small café in India look for in billing software?
For one café with a counter and a kitchen: fast counter billing, GST bills, a kitchen screen, cash, UPI and card in the day’s total, a shift close and an export for your CA, at a monthly price you can see before you sign up. Nivala is built for exactly that café. If you need offline billing, delivery-app orders arriving by themselves or several outlets, it is not right for you yet.
Does Nivala work for a small restaurant?
Yes, if your restaurant works like a café: one counter, one kitchen, dine-in and takeaway, mostly walk-in guests. Tables, the kitchen screen and GST bills work the same way. It is not built for chains with many outlets or for cloud kitchens.
Does Nivala take table reservations or restaurant bookings?
No. Nivala runs the counter, the kitchen and the day’s numbers. It does not take table reservations, online bookings or QR orders from guests.
How much does Nivala cost?
Starter is ₹999 a month per café. Plus is ₹1,299 a month per café. This is the final amount. GST is not charged. Pay monthly. No setup fee. No annual plan. There is no free trial.
Do I need to buy POS hardware?
No. Nivala runs in Chrome or Edge on a PC or laptop you already own, and in Chrome on an Android phone or tablet. iPhone and iPad are not supported. A printer is optional; bills can be shown on the screen.
Does Nivala work without the internet?
No. Nivala does not bill offline. A sale counts only when our server confirms it, so nothing is billed twice. If the internet stops, anything already sent to the kitchen is safe, but new orders and payments wait until it returns.
