Is Nivala right for your café?

Who Nivala is for, and who it is not for yet.

If you are in one of the groups below, we would rather tell you now than lose your Saturday night. You are welcome to try the practice copy anyway. It is free.

Nivala is a good fit if

  • You run one independent café with a counter and a kitchen.
  • Most of your sales are walk-in, dine-in or takeaway.
  • You have steady broadband or a good mobile connection at the counter.
  • Your team is comfortable reading English or Hinglish (Roman letters) on the screen.
  • You already own a PC, laptop or Android tablet that runs Chrome or Edge.
  • You want billing, a kitchen screen and the day’s numbers for ₹999 a month (Starter), or ₹1,299 a month with stock and recipe costing (Plus). Both are the final amount; GST is not charged.

Not right for you yet if

  • You need to bill when the internet is down

    Not yet

Nivala works online. A sale counts only when our server confirms it, so nothing is billed twice. If the internet stops, anything already sent to the kitchen is safe, but new orders and payments cannot be confirmed until it returns. Nivala does not bill offline. The Android app is for Android tablets and phones from Android 12. It is being rolled out to cafés in the founding group, so there is no download link yet. RushSafe is being introduced with the Android app. What RushSafe does and does not do.

  • A large share of your orders come from Swiggy or Zomato

    Not yet

Nivala has no automatic link to delivery apps and does not make a tax invoice for those orders. You can type or paste each one at the counter so the kitchen gets it and it is in the day’s numbers. If you want the app orders to arrive by themselves, Nivala is not right for you yet; we will say here if that changes.

  • Your staff need a Hindi or regional-language screen

    Not yet

The counter, payment, bill and kitchen screens are in English or Hinglish (Hindi in Roman letters). Seven Indian scripts (Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati) are in Beta: menus and navigation switch, but the counter, payment and bill words stay in English until native speakers have checked them, and we have not set a date. If your team cannot read Roman letters, Nivala is not right for you yet.

  • You need paper kitchen tickets on a network printer

    Not yet

The kitchen screen is the main way tickets reach the kitchen. Kitchen tickets can also print on a USB or Bluetooth (BLE) printer at the counter, but printers on Wi-Fi or a network cable, and older Bluetooth printers, do not work from a browser. We have not yet proven one specific model, so we do not list one.

  • You are a cloud kitchen or run several outlets

    Not yet

Nivala is for one café at a time.

  • You sell across state lines, need e-invoicing, or want us to file your GST return

    Not yet

Every bill is a sale within your own state. We do not make e-invoices (IRN) and we do not file returns. You get CSV downloads for your CA.

  • You use an iPhone or iPad at the counter

    Not yet

Not supported. Nivala runs in Chrome or Edge on a PC or laptop, and in Chrome on an Android phone or tablet.

Two questions to ask yourself

What share of your orders come from delivery apps? Can the person at your counter read English on a screen?

If delivery is more than a small share, or your staff cannot work in English, Nivala is not right for you yet. If neither is true, try the practice copy and run the six checks against your own books before you pay.

Set up and practise free. Pay when you go live.

Starter is ₹999 a month per café. Plus is ₹1,299 a month per café. This is the final amount. GST is not charged. There is no free trial.
